Licensing of social care professionals in Dubai
As per the Executive Council's decision No. 20 of 2011, it is now mandatory for the professionals who work in social care sector to obtain license from the Community Development Authority. The Community Development Authority (CDA) is a government authority belonging to the Government of Dubai, responsible for seting up and developing frameworks for social development. All social care workers, special education teachers, therapists and counsellors working in Dubai, including its free zones, must obtain the professional license issued by the CDA. The Social Regulatory and Licensing Sector is the executive arm of the CDA charged with the implementation and management of a progressive regulatory and licensing system that safeguards the social care benefciaries in Dubai.
